This week, we have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man. We have been using lots of sensory items to help us to interact with the story and to have extra fun! We stirred up flour with ginger and cinnamon - it smelled so delicious! We kneaded, rolled and cut up some ginger play dough. We used puppets to act out all the animals' roles in the story and practiced our animal sounds. We swished some water in a tub and put our hands in to feel how wet the Gingerbread Man was getting in the water before the fox, ahem, 'helped' him!
This week is scoot to school week. National SOW Day (Scoot on Wednesdays) will be held on Wednesday 14th March. By participating in National Scoot to School Week / SOW Day you will be showing your support for a greener, healthier environment.
Please scoot to school this Wednesday and we may be in with a chance to win scooter parking for our school.
Thank you so much to our student council and all our parents for fundraising for our school defibrillator which is now installed inside the front door!

Here are some updates and news from this week!
We had lots of fun painting jars with a mixture of PVA glue and food colouring. It was messy and sticky and gloopy - we loved it! We hope you like your Mother's Day candle holders and are having a lovely relaxing Mother's Day!
This week at our whole-school assembly every child in the school painted a rock. The rocks will all be placed together to make a colourful outdoor pebble path. We can't wait to see the finished result!
This Friday, the Holly Class and the Hawthorn Class came together for play based learning in the Holly Room. We had 3 stations - a water table, a sand tray and a jigsaw table. We rotated every 15 minutes so that everyone had a chance to work at each station. We loved playing beside one another, sharing toys and singing songs.
Tour to Imaginosity
Unfortunately we couldn't go on our tour to Imaginosity last week due to the snow. The tour has been rescheduled to Wednesday March 21st. An updated Social Story is attached below if you would like to read it with your child in anticipation of the trip!
