We had great fun practicing and performing our Peace Day song - If You're Happy and You Know It. If you missed the performance, don't worry! There were recordings taken by the school which will be available from the website in due course! Here's a shot of one of our rehearsals with the Hawthorn Class!
We have been learning about babies as part of our theme of 'Myself'. We sorted clothes for big children and babies, we talked about and sorted pictures of things babies need and we had some fun with play! We washed the babies in the bath, we put the babies to bed, we gave the babies a bottle and some food and we dressed and undressed the babies, and very importantly, we gave the babies lots of hugs!
We would like to invite all families to attend our celebration of Peace Day 2018 with a performance in the Assembly Hall at 9am on Friday 21st September. Classes have been preparing songs and poems and are looking forward to performing for you. See you there!
It was a very busy first full week back at school. I'd say there will be lots of tired heads at home tonight!
Here's what we were getting up to during the week.....
All About Me!
Our theme this month is 'All About Me'. This week we started out by looking a lot at our own faces - making faces with playdough, craft materials, felt, magnetic pieces and paper plates. We practiced drawing faces in our copies too.
We have started learning about brushing our teeth. We learned the sequence of actions for when we brush our teeth and practiced it on an extra big mouth! Keep an eye in your folders next week for some visual supports and a social story to use at home. We learned a song about brushing our teeth too - please see the link below so you can use it at home to help with morning and night routines.
We are learning about length and Data in Maths this month. This week we measured our heights on a height chart and we measured our feet with coloured squares. We also made a block chart to show the colour of the hair and eyes of the people in our class!
Our first visit to the library bus
We had our first visit to the library bus on Thursday. We loved chilling out and looking at all the different books together! Our next visit to the bus will be on Thursday 20th of September - we will need to bring back in our books and then we can borrow a new one!
