Holly and Hawthorn classes have been learning about foods this month. We also read the story of the Hungry Caterpillar. We teamed up to make food-based caterpillars. We had lots of fun playing with the blueberries, raspberries, grapes, apples and celery and singing our caterpillar song as we worked!
The PTA and student council are delighted to host our annual cake sale in the hall this Friday. We are asking our school community to support this event for the provision of skipping workshops for the children in the school. Skipping is an excellent way to promote fitness, increased hand, feet and eye coordination and it's lots of fun. We are looking for donations of cakes, buns, snacks and treats for the Cake Sale.We are looking for parent volunteers to support setting up the hall and stalls from 11am on Friday!
This week we explored autumn colours using paint. We made negative prints of autumn leaves on paper and we mixed autumn colours together in squishy bags!
We started learning about autumn this week. We went on a nature walk to look at the autumn leave falling and to make bark rubbings. We made hedgehogs with clay and matchsticks. We also had a very relaxing trip to the library bus and then we relaxed with our books when we got back inside. What a nice first week of October!
