The PTA and the pupils of Powerstown ETNS are delighted to announce that our annual School Art Exhibition will be on display in our hall this Friday, December 7th 2018!
The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Winter Fun’. The artwork will be beautifully finished, professionally framed and catalogued for display in the school. As well as a great artistic event we are using the exhibition as a fundraiser to help to reduce the cost of swimming lessons for all the families in the school.
The pictures are great value at only €12 each, if you buy a second picture it will cost €10, if you buy a third it will cost €9.50. The framed print copies of the originals would make a lovely present, will be available to view on Wednesday December 5th and you can purchase them during the Winter Fair this Friday 7th December.
We look forward to seeing everyone there but if you can’t make it & would like to have your child’s picture, send the money in before exhibition day and we will arrange delivery.
Art is an area that every child enjoys and the exhibition will be a big social event in the life of the school this year, so please come along, (support our fundraiser) and admire the work of all our talented children!
Performances start at 8.45a.m. in the school hall - please come early to get a seat and enjoy the show!
We will have a toy and baked goods table for sale at the fair. If any parents have old toys that are in good condition that they would like to donate they can do so on Thursday, December 6th. Parents who would like to donate baked goods for the bake sale can drop these into the school on the morning of the Winter fair, Friday, December 7th.
On Friday December 7th we are having our annual “Winter Fair Fundraiser” from 1pm to 3pm in our School Hall. This will be an action packed, fun family day out.
There will be plenty of children’s entertainment including a children’s disco, face painting, party games, photo booth, jumble sale, art exhibition & much, much more! We are also expecting a very special visitor! Santa will be dropping by with presents for the boys and girls. There is no entrance fee.
This event is open to the entire school community, so bring along your friends, neighbours and relatives!!

Holly and Hawthorn classes have been learning about foods this month. We also read the story of the Hungry Caterpillar. We teamed up to make food-based caterpillars. We had lots of fun playing with the blueberries, raspberries, grapes, apples and celery and singing our caterpillar song as we worked!
The PTA and student council are delighted to host our annual cake sale in the hall this Friday. We are asking our school community to support this event for the provision of skipping workshops for the children in the school.
