This week we explored autumn colours using paint. We made negative prints of autumn leaves on paper and we mixed autumn colours together in squishy bags!
We started learning about autumn this week. We went on a nature walk to look at the autumn leave falling and to make bark rubbings. We made hedgehogs with clay and matchsticks. We also had a very relaxing trip to the library bus and then we relaxed with our books when we got back inside. What a nice first week of October!
We had great fun practicing and performing our Peace Day song - If You're Happy and You Know It. If you missed the performance, don't worry! There were recordings taken by the school which will be available from the website in due course! Here's a shot of one of our rehearsals with the Hawthorn Class!
We have been learning about babies as part of our theme of 'Myself'. We sorted clothes for big children and babies, we talked about and sorted pictures of things babies need and we had some fun with play! We washed the babies in the bath, we put the babies to bed, we gave the babies a bottle and some food and we dressed and undressed the babies, and very importantly, we gave the babies lots of hugs!
We would like to invite all families to attend our celebration of Peace Day 2018 with a performance in the Assembly Hall at 9am on Friday 21st September. Classes have been preparing songs and poems and are looking forward to performing for you. See you there!
